Transnistria | Soviet Architecture: In this breakaway state considered part of Moldova you can find so much soviet stuff from hammer and sickle to Lenin statues everywhere. This de facto country is locally called Pridnestrovie and it seems like time stands still because the USSR is still around in Transnistria. The capital Tiraspol offers some fine soviet architecture like the parliament and the city hall. My fav was the prometheus statue in the south of Transnistria. I also really liked the old-timer trolleybuses. For tourists it’s kind of fun to time travel, but for the most people in Transnistria life is hard due to different reasons (one company has almost a monopoly in all economic sectors, dependency of Russia etc). However for soviet art it is a real destination I spent 2 days there of my 5 days in Moldova. It was my second time and I have to admit, winter is great to visit this very special part of Europe. #fyp #seetheworld #architecture #urbex #soviet
