Unusually warm weather and lack of snow seen in most of Romania's ski resorts

The unusually mild winter is also a headache for ski slopes administrators. The lack of snowfall and positive daytime temperaturescause problems in maintaining the snow cover, so snow cannons become indispensable to maintain reasonable conditions for winter sports. Only in the center and north of the country are night temperatures low enough to allow the production of artificial snow.

Thus, the slopes in Vatra #Dornei are more and more sought after by tourists in this period. Although the weather has not been generous and the snow is expected, the snow cannons have saved the winter season so that the three functional slopes provide good conditions for skiers. In addition, the slopes of Vatra Dornei attract tourists from all over the country but especially from Moldova, especially as the prices are somewhat lower than in similar resorts on the famous but much too expensive Prahova Valley.

There is still fun in a fairytale setting in the Harghita Bai resort in the center of the country. The warm weather of the last few days has slightly affected the condition of the slopes in the region, but even so the skiing conditions are quite good on most of the slopes located in the higher parts of the county. All the 5 slopes in Harghita Bai with a total length of 3 km are open and the administrators are making efforts to ensure good skiing conditions and are waiting for the snow forecast by meteorologists for the next weeks.
