Faro recebeu na sexta-feira, 18 de Fevereiro de 2022 a terceira etapa da Volta ao Algarve, que ligou Almodôvar à capital da Região, que levou os corredores por um percurso de 209,1 quilómetros, que culminou num sprint empolgante.

O neerlandês Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) conquistou a terceira etapa da Volta ao Algarve, uma ligação de 211,4 quilómetros, com partida em Almodôvar e chegada em Faro, onde uma multidão celebrou o regresso da corrida, 14 anos depois do anterior final de etapa na capital algarvia. O francês David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) conservou a Camisola Amarela Região de Turismo do Algarve

Nesta etapa assinalou-se também o aniversário da Associação de ciclismo do Algarve que comemorou nesse mesmo dia o seu 63.º aniversário. Foi o momento para se dar os parabéns a todos os homens e mulheres que contribuíram para a História do ciclismo na região, que deram ao país grandes campeões e um imenso património, entre o qual se inclui a nossa Volta ao Algarve.

Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) won the third stage of the Volta ao Algarve, a 211.4-kilometre race which started in Almodôvar and ended in Faro, where a large crowd celebrated the return of the race, 14 years after the previous stage finale in the Algarve capital. Frenchman David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) kept the yellow jersey Região de Turismo do Algarve

This stage also marked the anniversary of the Algarve Cycling Association, which celebrated on the same day its 63rd birthday. It was the moment to congratulate all the men and women who contributed to the History of cycling in the region, who gave the country great champions and an immense heritage, which includes our Tour of the Algarve.
