Estivemos em Estoi para acompanhar as comemorações dos 50 anos de Sacerdócio do cónego José Pedro Martins, de 77 anos, que completou no passado dia 29 de junho, 50 de sacerdócio.
Integrando as comemorações com diversas iniciativas que decorreram em Faro e Estoi, seguindo-se Sta Bárbara de Nexe e Quarteira. O Grupo Coral II Capítulo foi também convidado para integrar esta homenagem, com este concerto na Igreja Paroquial de Estoi.

O Grupo Coral Segundo Capítulo, tem a sua origem num grupo de antigos elementos do primeiro Coro do Conservatório Regional do Algarve, na altura dirigido pelo Padre José Pedro Martins.

30 anos depois, muitos dos antigos coralistas, desde sempre dedicados à música no panorama nacional e internacional, reativaram o antigo coro em que o Segundo Capítulo reiniciou os ensaios regulares, em Faro, em 2011 e realizando em agosto desse ano, um primeiro concerto nos claustros da Sé Catedral de Faro.

Sob direção artística do maestro João de Almeida, conta atualmente com mais de 3 dezenas de coralistas de várias faixas etárias.

We were in Estoi to accompany the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the priesthood of Canon José Pedro Martins, 77, who completed on June 29th, 50th of the priesthood.
Integrating the celebrations with several initiatives that took place in Faro and Estoi, followed by Sta Bárbara de Nexe and Quarteira. The Coral II Chapter Group was also invited to integrate this tribute, with this concert at the Parish Church of Estoi.

The Coral Segundo Segundo Group has its origin in a group of former members of the first choir of the Regional Conservatory of the Algarve, at the time directed by Father José Pedro Martins.

30 years later, many of the former choristers, always dedicated to music on the national and international scene, reactivated the old chorus in which the Second Chapter restarted regular rehearsals, in Faro, in 2011 and in August of that year, performed the first concert in the cloisters of the Cathedral of Faro.

Under the artistic direction of conductor João de Almeida, it currently has more than 3 dozen choristers of various age groups.
