A Associação Música XXI apresenta a 13.ª edição do Festival de Órgão do Algarve, em novembro, nas Igrejas de Faro, Portimão, Loulé (Boliqueime) e Tavira. Treze anos a lembrarem-nos que estes instrumentos resistiram à passagem do tempo e hão de sobreviver-nos, orgulhosos e sós, no cimo do coro alto. Este ano não os poderíamos dececionar. Os tempos são difíceis, mas, se o pudessem, decerto sorririam com este pequeno contratempo no ano 2020.

Para nos ajudar a apreciar as melodias sempre jovens que soam destes vetustos instrumentos, convidámos este ano os organistas Pedro Monteiro, Beatriz Resendes, Rute Martins e João Vaz. De 6 de novembro até dia 28, sete concertos esperam por todos nós, com sons imortais interpretados por estes músicos virtuosos nos magníficos tubos dos órgãos.

Com raízes no Algarve, Pedro Monteiro realizou os estudos musicais no Porto, Valladolid (Espanha) e Regensburg (Alemanha). Como organista, realiza concertos nos mais variados formatos, em Portugal e no estrangeiro. É professor na Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto.

Associação Música XXI presents the 13th edition of the Algarve Organ Festival, in November, in the churches of Faro, Portimão, Loulé (Boliqueime) and Tavira. Thirteen years reminding us that these instruments have withstood the passage of time and will survive, proudly and alone, on top of the high choir. This year we could not disappoint them. Times are difficult, but if they could, they would surely smile at this little setback in the year 2020.

To help us appreciate the always young melodies that sound like these old instruments, this year we invited the organists Pedro Monteiro, Beatriz Resendes, Rute Martins and João Vaz. From the 6th of November to the 28th, seven concerts are waiting for us all, with immortal sounds played by these virtuoso musicians in the magnificent organ pipes.

With roots in the Algarve, Pedro Monteiro performed his musical studies in Porto, Valladolid (Spain) and Regensburg (Germany). As an organist, he performs concerts in the most varied formats, in Portugal and abroad. He teaches at the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University - Porto.
