No FolkFaro, as tradições do mundo são expressas através da música e da dança. Entrando na sua 17ª edição, esta organização do Grupo Folclórico de Faro é um dos acontecimentos mais aguardados no verão cultural da capital algarvia.

A Gala de Abertura no Teatro das Figuras é uma oportunidade dada aos grupos dos quatro cantos de mundo, de fazerem a sua estreia na principal sala de espetáculos do Algarve. O FolkFaro foi, aliás, distinguido com o Prémio Figuras, atribuído pelo Teatro Municipal de Faro em 2015.

O festival decorre de 17 a 25 de Agosto, sendo o único a sul do Tejo certificado pelo CIOFF® – organização internacional com relações formais de consulta com a UNESCO.

Em Faro, e um pouco por toda a região, desfiles e animações de rua, ateliers de dança, espetáculos nas freguesias e concelhos vizinhos, programas especiais para crianças, idosos e reclusos e celebração ecuménica completam um diversificado programa.

At FolkFaro, the traditions of the world are expressed through music and dance. Entering its 17th edition, this organization of the Faro Folkloric Group is one of the most anticipated events in the cultural summer of the Algarve capital.

The Opening Gala at Teatro das Figuras is an opportunity given to groups from all over the world to make their debut in the Algarve's main concert hall. FolkFaro was, moreover, distinguished with the Prize Figures, awarded by the Municipal Theater of Faro in 2015.

The festival runs from 17 to 25 August, being the only one south of the Tagus certified by CIOFF® - an international organization with formal consultative relations with UNESCO.

In Faro, and throughout the region, parades and street animations, dance workshops, shows in neighboring parishes and municipalities, special programs for children, the elderly and inmates and ecumenical celebration complete a diverse program.
