Todos os anos, na solenidade do Coração de Jesus é celebrado o dia de oração pela santificação do clero. Esta celebração decorreu na Quinta Feira Santa dia 01 de Abril de 2021 da parte da manhã, que no Algarve, tal como noutras Dioceses do País, celebrando-se assim a Missa Crismal. A Missa foi presidida pelo Bispo do Algarve, D. Manuel Neto Quintas, na Catedral de Faro.

Esta celebração ficou também marcada pela renovação das promessas sacerdotais dos Padres e bênção dos óleos dos catecúmenos e enfermos pela consagração do óleo da crisma. Estes óleos serão usados durante o ano em curso, na administração dos sacramentos do Batismo, Crisma, Ordem ou Santa Unção ou na dedicação dos altares ou de novas Igrejas.

Every year, on the solemnity of the Heart of Jesus, the day of prayer is celebrated for the sanctification of the clergy. This celebration took place on Holy Thursday, April 1, 2021, in the morning, in the Algarve, as in other Dioceses in the country, thus celebrating the Crismal Mass. The Mass was presided over by the Bishop of the Algarve, D. Manuel Neto Quintas, in the Cathedral of Faro.

This celebration was also marked by the renewal of the priestly promises of the Fathers and the blessing of the oils of catechumens and the sick by the consecration of the oil of confirmation. These oils will be used during the current year, in the administration of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Order or Holy Unction or in the dedication of altars or new churches.
