From Faro with Love. Project CARPET

Project CARPET (Craft Art and People Together) gathered more than 80 people from different ages, nationalities and backgrounds moved by the curiosity and willingness to crochet together. The action took place outdoors in the public park Manuel Vivar in the city of Faro, Algarve, Portugal thanks to the support of the City Town Hall. This performative action introduced citizens from different associations like PALS in Algarve formed by people from Portugal and expatriates from the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Norway, India, among many others, together with Tejedoras del Muelle de la Sal a group of passionate about crochet from the city of Seville and villages such as Villaverde del Rio and San Nicolás del Puerto in Andalusia, Spain. The crochet pieces resulting out of this day of sharing was continued in Cornwall, England, UK to end up as an artistic site-specific installation in Seville.
