Planning to travel from the UK? Here is what you need to know!
If you are planning to travel from the UK to India or any other country for a genuine reason, there are certain steps to follow.
• Step 1: Do check the rules and restrictions of travel from the UK Government as they keep on updating depending on the COVID situation.

• Step 2: Do check the rules and restrictions of the designated destination as there are different quarantine rules for each country.
• Step 3: Do check for the RED LIST TRAVEL BAN COUNTRIES in the UK government website and plan to travel accordingly.

• Step 4: Book a flight that is operated by the government for better updates on the travel restrictions.
• Step 5: Keep checking emails to see if there are cancelations of the flight due to the COVID situation (as there are only a few flights that are being operated to restrict the travel).
• Step 6: Follow the process given by the government regarding the declaration forms given by the airlines of the UK and the destination’s declaration form. For example: If you are traveling to India there is a travel declaration from AIR SUVIDA https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration
that needs to be filled and submitted. You will receive a confirmation mail that needs to be submitted at the port of exit and entry.
• Step 7: Book a FIT TO FLY covid Rt-PCR test before 72hrs of travel (usually the result will be delivered within 24hrs, but in some cases, results could take up to 48hrs to receive, especially if your sample needs to be retested), the price amount for the test varies. Check for the cheaper prices online if you are financially struggling. The price ranges from £80 to £150.
• Step 8: Carry travel-size toiletries, sanitizer, pen, and disposable masks for keeping yourself safe from covid.
• Step 9: Before your travel, please take 4 hard copies of each travel declaration forms of the designated destination and, your COVID NEGATIVE test result certificates. (there is another declaration form (prepare to fill the same information in 4x copies) that will be given in the airplane to be filled and should be submitted at various places in the designated airport).
• Step 10: After you arrive at the designated airport, this is what you need to expect: wait for long hours to finish the process- firstly all the hard copies will be collected to ensure your travel and destination, secondly, you will be directed to the testing area where you need to pay a certain amount (for example: in India, you will need to pay Rs. 1,200 if you are traveling to home via own transport, for transit or connecting flight you will need to pay Rs.4,200 for Rt-PCR test). Thirdly, you will be directed to immigration where you need to give your personal details such as home address and phone number.
• Step 11: Finally, when you are home, please follow the quarantine rules as per your designated destination.
