A week in Portugal was enough for us to see the main and the most known places.
We flew to Lisbon and spent there two days. There is many stunning things like Santuário de Christo Rei which was inspired by statue in Rio de Janeiro, Padrão dos Descobrimentos - seafarers on the boat, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Igreja Santa Maria de Belém where you can find Vasco de Gama's tomb, Elevador de Santa Justa, Castelo de S. Jorge, Oceanário de Lisboa and many others. From Lisbon it's just an hour to Sintra - beautiful historical town where the most famous spot is Poço Iniciático (Initiation Well).
By the train we moved to Porto which is the second largest city in Portugal. Many buildings over there are covered with white-blue azulejos (typical for Portugal). You cannot definitely miss tasting of the sweet but strong Port wine.
Quite long way from there to the south was worth it. Near by Faro is a lot of wetlands where we saw flamingos and other birds. Train from Faro to Lagos goes often so we could relax by the Atlantic ocean and enjoy the orange cliffs specific for this area of Algarve.
