Why Stay In Albufeira During The Winter Are We Crazy

Albufeira party central of The Algarve or is it? It's fun using literature or movie plots to describe a place or person. Albufeira has a Jekyll and Hyde quality or a tale of two cities. Summertime brings crowds to Albufeira's beautiful beaches with hot summer temperatures and wedding parties to enjoy a hen or stag party. Football (soccer), also brings in crowds of supporters to party and watch their favourite teams in sports bars.

Then everything turns quiet and peaceful a lot of sports bars close for the winter, the beaches are empty but the sky is still beautifully blue and clear, temperatures range between 12º to 24ºC and the crowds have left being replaced by an older crowd. The grey hair set come into town in small quantities, looking for mild winter weather, great food and calm walks on the beach.

If you read the negative press of Albufeira in the summertime and believe that is the whole story, you maybe missing a golden opportunity to experience Albufeira as the perfect base to explore The Portuguese Algarve. We stay here in Albufeira because it is the largest town in The Algarve and is the geographic centre of The Algarve making east and west travel equal distance along the coast.
