Welcome to Episode 4 of the Drakos Dottir Podcast
Today a making focus on weaving and a double dose of Wuffa reenactors!
From the Workshop:
I take you through what is tablet weaving, some examples I weave myself with pictures and a suggestion on how to use tablet weaving in your outfit.
Compelling Chronicles:
Meeting Hervor the Volva from Wuffa reenactment group. Jerrie explains the role of the Volva outside of the Viking community. When we can reenact she can be found commentating Wuffa's displays and acting as camp mum.
Meet the Makers:
A talk through Jayne Delarre's Warp Weighted Loom and its basic functions as well as some historic facts about weaving in this way. Jayne runs ViksDottir's Loom on Etsy and Facebook where you can find examples of her beautiful weaving to buy.
Compelling Chronicles:
A talk with Solvi the Everchosen from Wuffa about how the reenactment family help with her anxiety. During lockdown Cat has been taken her permitted exercise as walks through different areas of her local countryside and it's been a joy to see her photos and how she's taking charge of her mental health as an example to others who might be struggling.
