In late September 2016 I spent 2 weeks hiking and hitchhiking around Norway taking full advantage of the Norwegian free camping law.
In total, +-80km were hiked, +-360km hitchhiked.
This was my first time hitchhiking and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to travel through Norway. Yes, we did have long waits on occasion but everybody who picked us up were really friendly. We got really lucky on our longest leg when we got picked up by a German lady (who had driven from Germany) who was heading way up north to visit friends - I actually drove the whole way :)
This was my first taste of Norway and I feel like I haven't even scraped the surface. I will definitely return someday, perhaps in the winter for some Northern Lights action.
