A week in Krakow. We stayed at the luxurious Grand Hotel, a short walk from the Central Market Square.
Come for a walk with us through the Old Town. There is evidence that a part of it – Wavel Hill – had been settled 50,000 years ago. The magnificent Wavel Castle and its Cathedral overlooking the Vistula River are on the Unesco World Heritage List. Attending Mass at St. Mary’s Basilica will refresh and enhance your emotions. Here is where Pope Paul 2 was presiding before being selected to head the Catholic Church in Rome. The Basilica dominates the very large and famous central market square where people meet, eat, celebrate, play music and exchange ideas. Krakow’s University, Jagiellonian University 1364, has been teaching students for more than 650 years. Much of the high City Walls surrounding the Centrum are in good condition, there to be explored. Verdant green landscaped parks are surrounding the Old Town and are popular with locals and tourists alike to exercise and refresh their mind and body. For those appreciating classical music, there are live performances almost every day somewhere.
The video is presented in high definition. The photography will catch your attention. Please enjoy. A visit to Krakow may well become part of your destination in the near future. To best appreciate this town is to hire a local tourist guide and go for a walk.
