Additional fronts of rain are set to also target Italy, which is still recovering from severe floods in Venice, and Croatia while the rest of the continent is forecast to face snow and plummeting temperatures. BBC Weather meteorologist Nick Miller said: "After a stormy weekend, southern France is looking quieter on Sunday but we’re still going to see some heavy rain into parts of Italy and the Balkans. "It’s an area of low-pressure, this cloud, moving eastwards – quite strong winds associated with that blowing through the Adriatic. "Some very wet weather still impacting parts of Italy across to Croatia, with some snow to the higher ground and some strong wind in parts of coastal Croatia." Mr Miller continued: "Further to the southeast, a lot of fine weather but some snowfall affecting parts of Hungary on through Poland and northwards towards Lithuania. "Some storms around through eastern parts of Spain – in fact, several days of quite wet weather setting up here. North of that, it may be on the cold side but there will be some sunshine away from any fog patches."  Heavy rain is forecast to plague Spain further on Tuesday as the weather system affecting Italy and Croatia push further to the southeast sparking storms across Greece.  Locals and tourists have been warned to brace for "quite cold" temperatures over the coming days but BBC Weather predicted temperatures should once again rise as the week progresses. Mr Miller added: "A weather system in Italy and the Balkans is to move further east across southeast Europe and some storms affecting parts of Greece during Tuesday. Looking still quite wet in the eastern portions of Spain. "Looking quite cold for a time in London but notice how temperatures go up again later in the week but with that, it looks like the return of some fairly wet and windy weather across the UK."   Scandinavia is set to start off the week with below zero temperatures as thermometers are set to hit -2C in Stockholm and -1C in Oslo while Helsinki holds on to 1C on Monday morning. Among the targets of the weather fronts affecting Europe is the UK as the winter chill is forecast to grip the country starting on Sunday afternoon. Latest BBC Weather charts show temperatures are expected to plummet to -4C in Cardiff on Monday morning and -2 in Plymouth – with London forecasted not to hit about -1C. The chilling forecast comes after the Met Office recorded an astonishing -10.3C in Scotland on Saturday night, the UK’s “lowest temperature since last winter”.   Trending  Temperatures could drop as low as
