The Holy Trinity Monastery is located in Bușteni, Prahova Valley, on the road that connects the plain to the amazing mountain area, at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains. The monastic settlement is a new one, established in 2009. The building with the specific architectural elements from the beginning of the 20th century is a historic monument. Next to the beautiful building, a small church was built in 2010.
Bușteni is a well-known mountain resorts in Romania located in the Prahova Valley, at the bottom of the Bucegi Mountains, 135 kilometers away from Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Surrounded by Bucegi Mountains with their beautiful peaks (2,505 meters maximum altitude), Busteni has an enchanting location at an average altitude of 880 meters. There are many tourism opportunities in the small mountain town, including skiing, hiking and mountain climbing.
The Caraiman Peak is 2,384 m in high and has atop the Heroes' Cross, a memorial of World War I, initiated by Queen Maria of Romania and erected between 1926 and 1928. Building the cross at 2291 m altitude was not an easy work. The materials needed for its construction were carried using carts carried by oxen and a funicular. The Heroes' Cross is 29.5 meters in high with 14 meters arms' length. At night, the cross is lit.
