Many of us have places that we like coming back to. For me, one of those places is Lviv – one of Europe’s hidden gems – not yet fully discovered by many travellers. It’s one of Ukraine’s most important cities, that has a very rich history – very significant to Ukraine, but also very connected to my native country (Poland) as the city was part of Poland before 1945, then it was annexed by the Soviet Union for the Ukrainian Socialist Republic After the breakout of the Soviet Union, the city became part of the independent Ukraine.
Today the city has a feeling of the mixture of influences – not only Polish or Ukrainian, but also Austro-Hungarian, as the city was under their rule for some time and the influence can be visible in the architecture.
This vlog shows one of my visits to this wonderful city – that time it was still during the Covid-19 pandemic in July 2021. Then it was still mandatory to wear a face mask in closed spaces, and Covid passport/or vaccination was required to enter the country.
Today, Ukraine is fighting for its freedom against Russia. This is why I wanted to share with you a vlog to this wonderful place. Ukraine will win, and hopefully many of you chose to visit Ukraine afterwards and start with Lviv! Enjoy!
