My final day in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova — a city caught between its Soviet past and a hopeful future. After returning from Transnistria, I spent the day exploring a different side of Moldova: the polished new Presidential Palace, the warmth of everyday encounters, and the stark beauty of the city’s urban decay.

Along the way, I found myself chatting with locals outside a coffee shop, soaking in the atmosphere of a city that feels rough around the edges but full of character and resilience. And then, one of the highlights: visiting the abandoned Soviet circus — once one of the largest in the USSR, now a haunting monument to a different era.
