During my stay in Lublin, I decided to take a local bus to visit what is often described as one of Poland's most beautiful towns, Kazimierz Dolny.

With a population of just 2,600, the town sits on the eastern bank of the Vistula River. In the 16th and 17th centuries, it was one of the most important trading towns in Poland, due to the trade in grain conducted along the river.

Befre WWII, 40% of the town's population was Jewish. Of the approximate 3,000 Jews that lived in Kazimierz Dolny, only 30 were thought to have survived the war.

Today, Kazimierz Dolny is a popular tourist destination and attracts many artists who come to sell their sculptures, stained-glass, folk art, and fine art.
