10 things you should know about the eVisa
ü What is an eVisa and how can I apply:
An eVisa is an authorization to enter Moldova issued in PDF format. An eVisa grants the same right to enter Moldovan territory, as ordinary sticker-visa in the passport. In order to apply for an eVisa, foreign citizens should access the Government web portal www.evisa.gov.md.
ü Types of eVisa that could be obtained online:
Only short stay visa type C can be obtained online. Applicants for type A, B, D visa should contact one of the diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Republic of Moldova abroad.
ü eVisa can be requested for the following purposes:
All foreigners can request eVisa if their purpose for visiting Moldova is:
- business
- tourism
- visit of relatives/friends
- mission
- sports activities
- transport
- cultural, humanitarian, scientific activities.
ü Who examines the eVisa applications:
The General Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with other relevant authorities.
ü The facilities granted by applying for the eVisa:
The only facilitation granted by eVisa consists in the online application, without the personal presence of the applicant at the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Moldova. Foreigners who come from the states that must present an invitation issued by the Bureau for Migration and Asylum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, are not exempt from presenting this document, when applying for the eVisa.
ü Method of payment:
When application for eVisa is completed, the applicant can pay through a credit or a debit card (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
ü eVisa fee:
The eVisa cost is 80 Euro (consular fee - 60 Euro and processing fee - 20 Euro).
ü The term of examination of an eVisa request:
The examination period of the electronic visa application is up to 10 calendar days from the date of application; the term may be extended if necessary up to 20 days.
ü How do I know the result of the eVisa request:
In the legally designated time, the applicant will be notified via e-mail about the outcome of the review application. In case of approval, the applicant will receive eVisa in PDF format.
ü Necessary documents foreigner should present at border crossing point:
- a printed eVisa;
- a travel document (passport);
- a copy of the invitation, as well as other supporting documents according the purpose of the visit;
- medical health insurance for the period of stay in the Republic of Moldova.
