After four weeks in Poland, Slovakia & the Ukraine (and Belarus...sort of ????), the weather began to turn foul, and infection rates were increasing by the week as the "second wave" began. Clearly, I needed a new plan.

Leaving Ukraine, I decided to return to Poland, from where I would depart on a cheap Ryanair flight to the Canary Islands, off the coast of North Africa, to begin a month-long journey around the islands of Macaronesia. Infection rates were relatively low in this far-flung corner of Europe, so I felt it best to play it safe and explore this undiscovered territory, free from the usual crowds and tourist hordes.

In this final episode of the Eastern Europe series, I take you on my journey from Kyiv to the Canary island of Tenerife, via Poland. I can't wait to explore this region of Africa with all of you in the next series!
