Chisinau City Day is celebrated on October 14 annually by the people of Moldova to mark the anniversary of the city. Also on this very day falls the ‘Hramul Chisinaului’ which is a Russian religious day to honor the Holy Virgin’s intercession. In the evening, there is an open-air musical at the Great National Assembly Square, followed by a magnificent firework show. The day is a public holiday in Chisinau. The city is the key industrial and commercial center of the Republic of Moldova and is situated between Romania and Ukraine. Chisinau City is one of the most prosperous and populous cities in Moldova.
