Camping at Dzharylhach Island National Park offers the good and bad of wild camping.
The GOOD: Dzharylhach, along the Ukraine Black Sea coast, is isolated and quiet. The island is easily accessible while the beach camping is free.
Seafood fishing for shrimps and mollusks is abundant while wildlife observation, including Black Sea Dolphins, is available.
The BAD: Dzharylhach has many hazards when camping. There is a bad mosquito problem, jellyfish are in sea (though that doesn't stop the locals from swimming) and the summer sun of Ukraine is harsh.
Despite the challenges, Matt makes the best of the situation and still retains a positive attitude. With patience and perseverance, a superb Black Sea sunrise is enjoyed from his weekend experience of wild camping.
