This is North Laos in the area of Nong Khiaw, only accessible by boat where I decide to do a special hike on a river bed over several waterfalls. The "100 Waterfall" hike trail has been used by locals for decades as a direct route between the dispersed villages of the Nam Ou valley.
You jump from pool to pool and use ropes and bamboo ladders to navigate through the waterfalls. Be prepared to get leeches in your socks! However, this is an excellent day-trek not to be missed if you are in the area!
