Hotel Review: Mercure Gdańsk Stare Miasto (Mercure Gdansk Old Town), Pomerania, Poland - July 2022 - https://youtu.be/w9IilIOl20s .
I stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Gdańsk Old Town in July 2022. I paid £232.34 for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is conveniently located around a 7 minute walk from Gdańsk Główny Railway Station and around a 7 minute walk from the key streets and waterfront of Gdańsk Old Town. It is a very high hotel, based in a towerblock, which is visibly from across much of the city.
Upon entering the hotel, the reception / lobby area is impressively designed with excellent lighting and some interesting and varied works of art, which are both traditional and contemporary in nature, including oli paintings of the Gdańsk shipyards and a turquoise swirling set of seats, which resembles a giant apple peel.
There are four lifts, you need to use your key card to operate the lifts, they are fairly quick and took me up to the top 17th floor in around 25 seconds. Upon leaving the lift, there are excellent views to the left over Gdańsk shipyards.
My room (1707) was large ans spacious with a good king-sized bed, air-conditioning, wardrobe, safe, desk / dressing table, comfortable chair, flat-screened Philips TV, fridge, complimentary bottles of water, tea and coffee maing facilities, coffee table, bedside tables, various lights and switches and several plug socketts around the room, but note, none next to the bed.
The bathroom was very modern looking, it had a very accessible long walk-in shower, sink, toilet, soaps, bin, hooks an array of towels and shelving. The toliet was in a bit of a tight-spot and if I had to critique the bathroom that would be the one thing that I would change.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, I really enjoyed this. There was a ide range of hot and cold Polish and international cuisine on offer.
The bar is stylish, there is a large emphasis on wine, but there were some good craft beers on offer too, including a particularly tasty Baltic Porter. The food in the bar was also very good from what I could see, I had a cold cheese, ham and bread platter, which was excellent.
The staff at the hotel were all very friendly, customer service wa second to none.
In summary, this was an excellent hotel to stop in, I would absolutely stat here again in future and would recommend it to anyone that is visiting Gdańsk.
The film features views of the hotel exterior, lobby, reception, lift / elevator, bar, restaurant, outside terrace, gym, mezzanine floor, breakfast buffet, 17th floor corridors and views and a detailed room review of room 1707 and the impressive views from this room over Gdańsk and its shipyards.
