On the 5th of March 2020, I left Bulawayo my hometown of more than two decades for Poland. My journey there was filled with adventure, mixed emotions and uncertainty as the virus was still in its infancy. Despite that, I managed to travel and catch a glimpse of the world’s first-ever 7-star hotel in Dubai known as the Burj Al Arab. Upon arriving in Warsaw, I was greeted by what seemed to be harsh temperatures of -2 degrees (I later discovered that -2 is a warm winter day) which made me instantly miss the warm summer sunshine from Sub-Saharan Africa.
