This relaxing Iași walk tour takes you through the beautiful streets of Iași, the historical and cultural capital of the Moldavia region in northeastern Romania. Filmed on a sunny summer Saturday in early July 2025 in stunning 4K 60fps.
We start in front of the iconic Palatul Culturii (Palace of Culture), one of Romania’s most impressive landmarks and home to the National Museum Complex of Moldova. From there we walk past the grand statue of Ștefan cel Mare and into the scenic Grădina Publică Palas with its fountains and elegant views.
Next we pass the historic Biserica Sfântul Nicolae Domnesc, the oldest surviving church in Iași, built by Stephen the Great between 1491 and 1492. We then stroll along the majestic Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt, the vibrant heart of the city, passing the beautifully carved Trei Ierarhi Monastery and the elegant Palatul Roznovanu (Iași City Hall).
The walk continues to the towering Catedrala Mitropolitană din Iași, the largest Orthodox cathedral in Romania, along with the adjacent Biserica Veche a Mitropoliei. After enjoying the cathedral grounds we head back along the lively boulevard filled with cafés and restaurants until we reach Piața Unirii (Union Square), the symbolic center of Iași.
From there we explore the charming Strada Alexandru Lăpușneanu, locally known as “Ulița Veseliei” (Street of Joy), before taking a peaceful detour through Parcul Mitocul Maicilor to see the Monument to the Victims of the Communist Regime.
We end our journey near Piața M. Eminescu, a key landmark on the edge of the historic Copou area.
