INSIDE ODESA during DRONE ATTACK

The trip started simply enough with a flight from Larnaca (LCA) to Chisinau (RMO). From Moldova, it was a long, steady bus ride across the border into Ukraine. Everything felt relatively calm until | actually arrived. About 20 minutes after getting off the bus in Odesa, the air raid sirens cut through the city noise. The alerts confirmed UAVs were inbound, and I had to find a shelter. It was an immediate, sobering introduction to what life is like here.

In this video, I'm walking through the streets of Odesa to see how the city is holding up. Having visited Kyiv a year ago, the difference is striking.
While Kyiv feels like a fortress that has found a rhythm, the damage in Odesa feels more raw and recent. The proximity to the water and the constant targeting of the coast creates a different kind of tension.

The departure was just as tense as the arrival.
Shortly after the bus pulled out of the city to head back toward the border, another alert began. When you're on a bus, you're in a bit of a gray zone-there's no way to reach a shelter, and you're forced to just keep moving while the drones are active over the city behind you. It's a strange, helpless feeling that really highlights the risks people take just to move around the country.

This video isn't about sensationalism; it's just a look at the reality of Odesa today-a beautiful city trying to function while under constant pressure.
