Poland has been a chapter of our lives which has been waiting to be read for over seventy years. My wife's father was a POW in Poland for three years between 1943-1946 under the occupation of Germany. We finally laid the ghosts to rest a visited the site of his internment. We also visited Krakow and enjoyed the beauty of this city but were also confronted with the dark stain of his recent history where some 67,000 Jewish residents lost their lives to the Nazis. It was a grim reality and incredibly sad.
