A plenary lecture given in Aveiro, Portugal, 2017, in which the notion of 'context collapse' is critically reviewed. Rather than context collapse, we see complex and dense contextualization - context expansion - going on. The data are from a conflict in a Facebook group. Data were gathered by Gosia Szabla and analyzed together with her, leading to a published paper (in Applied Linguistics Review) with the same title.
