Hi ! My name is Tanya Fiona and this is BlondeKyiv Youtube channel.
Kyiv is a very green city and today we will go to Pyrogiv

You will know how our people used to live on the territory of Ukraine in the last centuries. It’s a Museum of Folk Architecture and Folkways of Ukraine, also called Pyrohiv.
A lot of people come here with their families, to spend time in nature , Entrance fee is 50 uah it’s around 1,70 US Dollars

Upon the entrance and other places of the museum you will see a lot of locations where you can buy handmade accessories
Its an open-air village museum named Pirogiv. Its located beneath Kyiv .If you take a cab you will reach that place in half an hour from the city center. Just to remind you taxis in Kyiv are very cheap . 20-30 min taxi ride around 5 TO 8 euro. So I get here also by cab

Here you can walk through silent streets of the village and look at architecture from different parts of Ukraine and different centuries
Houses have small windows for A very interesting reason – people have to save warmth inside
And doors have special symbols – like an amulet . When you get inside the house you have bow down to it
The roof is thatched
Inside the houses you can see old ovens and tablecloths and other traditional itemsas handmade vyshyvanka , tablecloths , bedspreads , icons and portraits of Taras Shevchenko
Houses and the church were also brought from different parts of Ukraine

Here a movie * Bitter Harvest * was filmed i highly recommend to watch it

This grandfather plays on the cymbal - it's a vintage instrument .
As I mentioned before on the way you see a lot handmade things as dolls wreath and many others.
It’s the school. Sometimes pupils have to go some km by foot to get there. Near the entrance there are twigs for the children who behave badly. And not everyone could go to school because the family only had 1 pair of shoes . And at this time a usual family had 3-5 children and during the winter only one could wear shoes and go outside

This is a place for the concert and different events
And you can eat homemade Ukrainian food and drink tradition liquors
