In part 3 we travel through the beautiful Podlasie region in northeastern Poland, along the Augustów Canal and through the Białowieża Forest. This part of Poland is home to many beautiful, picturesque Orthodox churches. Of course, we drove through the "Land of Open Shutters" and stayed overnight in the unique Carsky Apartamenty. It is a restored freight station near the Belarusian border, a throwback to the time when the Russian royal family used these lands for recreation and hunting. Unfortunately, we did not get a room in the train carriage, but the dinner and lunch were truly royal! The motorcycle on the trip is the BMW K1600GTL.
