Moldova, a landlocked European country bordered on the west by Romania and on the east by Ukraine, is a must-see destination for history buffs. This country has not yet succumbed to the westernized rat race and retains its tranquil vibe. It also shares a number of similar phenomena with Romania, as the two countries were formerly one until World War II. It later became a member of the Soviet Union in 1991, and hence bears many parallels with that country.
