Join us on our travel adventures around Portugal! After highlighting some the best day trips from Lisbon and Porto, we head over to the cute seaside town of Peniche. From Peniche, we head out on one of the best day trips in the area: the Berlengas Islands!

Peniche has it all! Beaches, the historic Peniche Fortress, amazing food (try the Caldeirada), and friendly people!

It is also well situated for an easy day trip to the Berlengas Islands. The Berlengas are a Portuguese archipelago consisting of small Atlantic islands 10 to 17 kilometers off the coast of Peniche. We visited Berlenga Grande, the largest and only inhabited island in the archipelago.
