Sopot is a seaside resort city in Pomerania
on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland.
Is the one from smallest city in Poland,
with population of approximately 35,000.
It is one of the most popular destinations
chosen by milions tourists from Poland and abroad.
It lies between the larger cities of Gdańsk
to the southeast and Gdynia to the northwest.
The three cities together make up the metropolitan area of Tricity.
Sopot is a major health-spa and tourist resort destination.
In the city you will find many tourist attractions such as:
1) Sopot Pier, the longest wooden pier in Europe,
450 metres from the edge of the shore, 650 m total.
The present shape of the pier was given in 1928.
2) Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street (popular Monciak),
main pedestrian zone of the city center.
Thousands of tourists visit it every year.
3) Krzywy Domek ("Crooked House") at the Monciak.
It was built in 2004. It is about 4,000 square meters (43,000 sq ft)
The Crooked House took first place on the list
of the 50 weirdest buildings in the world,
published by Portal Village of Joy.
4) The city is also famous for its Sopot International Song Festival,
organized in this city since 1961.
