The Palace of Culture and science is a notable high rise building in central Warsaw Poland. It’s total height is 778 ft. and it is the tallest building in Poland.
It’s also the 5th tallest building in European Union and one of the tallest in the European continent.
This is listed in the Registry of Objects of Cultural Heritage. The construction began in 1952 and was completed in 1955. This took about 3500-5000 soviet workers and 4000 polish workers.This was made with 40 bricks in total. This was a gift from the Soviet Union Tu the people of Poland.

Construction:
The building currently serves as an exhibition centre and office complex.It has multiplex cinema with 8 screens, 4 theatres, 2 museums, offices, bookshop, a large swimming pool, an auditorium hall for 3000 people called the Congress Hall and an accredited university- Collegium Civitas on the 11th-12th floors.In 2010, the illumination of the building was modernised and high power LED lights were installed allowing the palace to take various colours at Night.
History:
Due to some controversy, the other prominent leaders and foreign minister had endorsed demolition plans of the palace noting the human right violation during its construction and the expenses for its maintenance. However, others rejected the idea noting that the palace itself has become one of the symbolic icons of Warsaw and a building representing the city’s rebirth from post war rubble.
The palace was also the tallest clock tower in the world until the installation of a clock mechanism in Tokyo. From the Observation Deck/ The Viewing Terrace provides the city’s best views.
