The time Ukraine starts to work against you, that is there's a large amount of well-intentioned men, who first come to Ukraine seeking their wife, seeking their second half. And after a series of dates with "nines" and "tens" the chemistry of their brain changes, their goals change. From this man who came to Ukraine wanting a family, to a man who just knows he can get any girl and then loses his intentions.

And it becomes this serial dater, if you will, and that's why foreigners when they come to Ukraine thinking that they can do it by themselves, who don't understand Ukrainian culture will fail. These foreigners need a mentor, somebody to show them the ropes, to tell them about what's expected in Ukraine. Because when I first came to Ukraine I was completely unaware.

My first trip here I met the woman of my dreams, I thought I was going to marry her! I went home with my parents and told them to get ready for the wedding. I returned to Ukraine and she found out that I was still dating and for me as an American before you've kissed before, you've had the talk that you're gonna be monogamous, then it's okay to keep dating.

But for her instantly our relationship was finished. It was done and this little piece of just advice that I would give to every foreigner here. If I had only known this before, I'd gone on a date with her I'd probably be happily married now. But I thought I could do it stupidly on my own.
