The animals are divided into different areas, according to the places where they originally come from. For some animals, special enclosures have been set up with limited access, while other areas can be visited on foot.

The monkey forest
The monkey forest contains a number of different monkey and lemur species. The area can only be visited via a special bus that runs through the area, as the animals easily destroy car antennas, side mirrors and other parts of passenger cars. The enclosure contains golden lion tamarins, cape baboons, cat murres, tufted marmosets and variegated monkeys.

The zoo
The zoo was the area where a herd of sika deer was released in the 1950s. Today, the area is used for North American animal species, bison and moose. An enclosed area is set aside as the Wolf Forest

The Dinosaur Forest
The dinosaur forest contains lifelike, animatronic dinosaurs, but also the dinosaurs' living relatives in the form of emus. Kangaroos are also found in the emus' area.

Skovridersletten
Skovridersletten is a large open area where the park's many water buffalo, zebu cattle, sika deer, fallow deer and fallow deer. The area also has three trees of the Abernes Skræk species. The area is named after a woodcutter's residence designed by the architect Frederik Christian Sibbern in 1867

The Savannah
The savannah is an "African" area that contains animals from that continent. Including African elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, rhinoceroses and ostriches. Denmark's last four circus elephants, Djungla, Jenny, Ramboline and Sarah, were bought free by the state, and in 2020 got a 14-hectare area with stables in the park.

The tiger forest

The tiger forest is a particularly closed area, where access is only possible in a closed car, as tigers roam around. The enclosure has trees and vegetation reminiscent of that of the Taiga, where the Siberian tiger comes from. Knuthenborg Safaripark participates in an international breeding collaboration that helps preserve the tiger.[18] A retired circus performer from Spain moved in 2021.

The wolf forest
The Wolf Forest, like the Tiger Forest, is an enclosed area that you visit in a closed car, as arctic wolves roam around. It is the only place in Denmark where it is possible to drive a car through an area with wolves. Adjacent to the Wolf Forest is also a log cabin with a glass wall directly in front of the arctic wolves. The wolf cabin can be visited on foot, and possibly accompanied by your dog.
