ULTIMATE Day Trip to MOLDOVA's Countryside | Ryan Pelle

After exploring Moldova's capital, Chisinau, I've decided to explore its countryside.

Moldova’s countryside is dappled with buttercup-yellow monasteries and record-breaking wineries.

Moldova has a lot of incredible looking churches being a predominantly Christian country. Monastic life thrives in Moldova. Church frescoes are lovingly maintained, gardens immaculately manicured, and silvery domes polished to a shine, and you don’t have to be especially religious-minded to appreciate their beauty and history either. I visited several churches and monasteries including the cave monastery in Butuceni.

Moldova is also a great winemaking nation.Though enjoying rising global acclaim, Moldovan wine remains under the radar of all but a few in the know. The grapes have been cultivated in the region since at least 2800 BC. I visited Cricova, one of the largest wine cellars in the world. They have the wine collections of famous world politicians like Angela Merken, John Kerry, and even Putin. Cricova is not just a cellar it's an underground wine city.
