At least three people were injured and several buildings damaged after an explosion rocked downtown Nashville on Friday.

Police said officers responding to calls of shots at the scene instead discovered a recreational vehicle playing a recorded message warning that a bomb would go off in 15 minutes.

The vehicle did explode but the adjacent neighbourhoods had been evacuated by then.
