Vilnius is the #capital of #Lithuania, one of the #Baltic-states. Not an obvious tourist destination, but that makes it all the more fun! The #Old-Town is quite compact, but there are plenty of interesting places to visit to keep you entertained for a few days. In addition, you can easily take various day trips from Vilnius to places such as #Trakai #Castle, the city of #Kaunas or to #Kernavé, the largest #archaeological site in Lithuania.

Vilnius has a beautiful #old-center with many well-preserved buildings from the #Baroque era. Striking is the enormous number of #churches, both Catholic churches and Orthodox churches. In the Old Town you will find cobbled streets with beautiful old houses from the 13th-19th century. It is not for nothing that these are on the #Unesco-World-Heritage list.
