Whilst I’m not usually one for day-tripping I would definitely recommend a visit to Vylkove, Ukraine ????????

Think Norfolk broads , Amazon basin ( that’s the River not the Bezos mob) , a hint of Brunei , a smigen of Venice ( didn’t see any Corneto’s sadly ) and a wiff of the Florida keys, all rolled into one ..

We went with an Odesa tour company ( book it near Potemkin)and it was very well organized.

6.30 am pick up at The railway station and then a bus relatively pain free bus ???? journey of about 2.5 hours past Moldova border and onto the banks of the Danube in Vylkove. With a mix of Romania / Moldova and Ukraine it’s a breath of fresh air ( literally ) from the hustle and bustle of daily life in metropolis Odesa.

River life , breathtaking scenery, good company , blue skies , local red wine ????, shaslik and fresh fish ???? in abundance and you have a great day of relaxation along the way.

Cormorants , a gaggle of swabs and even a swarm of ???? to add to the frivolity.

25 Pounds ???? for 15 hours is a good deal in my book - boat trip , idyllic restaurant, decent coach , plenty of pit stops and a good craic with the locals made for an excellent day ????
