One geologist believes that after nearly four years of regular activity, the Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park is likely to slow down again, Michael Poland, the scientist in charge at the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, told the Cowboy State Daily on Friday that Steamboat was nearly as inactive as recently as 2018, 2019 and 2020, with only four eruptions recorded this year so far.
