In this video, we will explore the Imperial Castle or ZAMEK. It is one of the best places to see in Poznan. In fact, it is one of the must see places in Poznan. Here is a brief History of the ZAMEK or Imperial Castle in Poznan

- 1910: Built under German rule in for William II, German Emperor

- 1918 : Residence of Polish Rulers after independence

- 1939 : Invaded by Nazis made Hitlers Residence

- 1944 : Open hospital for Nazi Soldiers

- 1945 : Attacked by the Red Army

- 1960 onwards : Cultural Centre for Art (Exhibition, Theatre and Music)

Today it is a centre of culture where art in the form on paintings, theatre and music festivals are conducted. The main universities are walking distance from the Zamek.
