VILAMOURA is a part of the Loulé municipality in Algarve, on the southern coast of Portugal. It is one of the three corners of Algarve's Golden Triangle. Vilamoura comprises one of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe and with about 2,000 hectares of land. The nearest airport is in Faro.

ALBUFEIRA is a city and seat of its own municipality in the district of Faro, in the southernmost Portuguese region of Algarve. The municipality population in 2011 was 40,828, in an area of 140.66 square kilometers (54.31 square miles). The city proper had a population of 13,646 in 2001. It is 250 kilometers (160 mi) from Lisbon and is within close proximity of Paderne Castle. Lagos is located 30 kilometers (19 mi) to the west, and Faro 45 kilometers (28 mi) to the south-east. A tourist destination (due to its coastal conditions), Albufeira expands to approximately 300,000 residents during the summer and during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, owing to the number of hotels and lodgings in its municipality, which includes marina facilities, golf courses, restaurants and bars for the annual flood of visitors.

ALJEZUR is a town and municipality of the District of Faro and Algarve region, in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 5,884, in an area of 323.50 km². The municipality comprises 4 parishes.
The village of Aljezur was taken from the Moors in 1249, during the reign of D. Afonso III, by Paio Peres Correia, Master of the Order of Santiago. The Christians gave thanks for their success to the Virgin Mary and is an expansion of faith, Nossa Senhora da Alva (Our Lady of the Dawn) was named the patron saint of Aljezur, as a result of the mythical legend of the Conquest of the Castle.


QUARTEIRA is a coastal civil parish, located along with the southern extent of the Algarve fronting Albufeira Municipality to the west (in the parish of Olhos de Água). In addition, the local area authority is bordered in the east by Almancil, northeast by São Clemente, north by São Sebastião and Boliqueime.
For several centuries, Quarteira was a modest fishing village, situated on the edge of a 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) beach, encircled by pines. King Denis authorized a formal (charter) for the settlement on 15 November 1297.
In the 15th century, King John I of Portugal ordered the first cultivation of sugar cane in continental Portugal.

LOULé is a municipality in the Portuguese Algarve, district of Faro. In 2011, the population had 70,622 inhabitants, in an area of approximately 763.67 square kilometers (294.85 sq mi). The municipality has two principal cities: Loulé and Quarteira.

LAGOS literally "lakes"; Proto-Celtic: *Lacobriga) is a city and municipality at the mouth of Bensafrim River and along the Atlantic Ocean, in the Barlavento region of the Algarve, in southern Portugal. The population of the municipality in 2011 was 31,049, in an area of 212.99 km2. The city of Lagos proper (which includes only the civil parish of São Sebastião e Santa Maria) has a population of approximately 22,000. Typically, these numbers increase during the summer months, with the influx of visiting tourists and seasonal residents. While the majority of the population lives along the coast and works in tourism and services, the inland region is sparsely inhabited, with the majority of the people working in agriculture and forestry.
