The Volta ao Algarve in Portugal went into its second day and second stage on Thursday, with French rider David Gaudu emerging as the leader for Groupama-FDJ. Gaudu now holds the general classification lead with three stages remaining, though he is just a second clear of the chasing pack, with Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates) in second place.
