A Aldeia de Montenegro é a sede da mais jovem freguesia do concelho de Faro, tendo sido criada em 20 de Junho de 1997. Localiza-se a cerca de 4 Km da Cidade de Faro, onde existia uma densa floresta que avistada ao longe parecia um Monte Negro e assim surgiu a designação de Montenegro.
Atualmente, nesta aldeia predominam 3 estilos arquitetónicos habitacionais: casas típicas, vivendas e prédios de 3 a 4 andares.

Gentílico: Montenegrense ou Montenegrino

A Igreja Paroquial de Nossa Senhora de Fátima foi inaugurada em 12 de Outubro de 1966 e apresenta um estilo arquitetónico moderno.
