A União Audiovisual, com o apoio da Câmara Municipal de Faro, organizou
No fim de semana de 8 a 9 de maio o festival “Algarve é União”, um evento
solidário que pretendeu angariar fundos e bens alimentares para esta
associação de cariz social e cultural, de apoio aos profissionais
técnicos e artistas da cultura, espetáculos e eventos.

O “Algarve é União” decorreu em dois espaços distintos da cidade de
Faro e contou com a participação de artistas das mais variadas áreas,
relacionadas com a cultura, como a música, teatro, poesia, stand-up,
entre outras.

O festival realizou-se exclusivamente em formato live stream, com
todos os eventos transmitidos na página do Youtube da União Audiovisual.
Para além do carácter solidário, esta iniciativa surgiu também com o
intuito de dar alento e esperança aos artistas e técnicos da região, que
devido à pandemia viram os seus projetos parados, o que colocou muitos
numa situação de emergência social.

O festival “Algarve é União” permitiu assim a estes profissionais o regresso ao trabalho, ao mesmo tempo que apelou à consciência de todos, para as
dificuldades que esta classe em particular, enfrenta.

Recorde-se que a UA – União Audiovisual é uma associação de cariz social e cultural, de apoio aos profissionais técnicos e artistas da cultura, espetáculos e eventos.

Em 2020, nasceram, a partir de várias consciências. Começaram como um grupo informal que se uniu no início da pandemia, organizando recolha de bens alimentares e de primeira necessidade, para colmatar as dificuldades pelas quais muitos deles não tiveram capacidade de ter respostas.

Desde 11 de Abril de 2020, que a União Audiovisual apoia o sector
cultural. Nesta fase, estão a ajudar famílias de Norte a Sul do país, incluindo nos Açores.

Estão distribuídos por vários polos: Porto, Coimbra, Oeste, Lisboa,
Margem Sul, Alentejo, Algarve e São Miguel. Já ajudaram cerca de 265 famílias em todo o território nacional, sendo o
polo de Lisboa, o que mais tem recebido pedidos, apoiando 130 famílias
por mês.
