Algarve, south Portugal in 2 days

Hopefully you could see my previous travel to Portugal already, but I felt that I’m missing out on this country.

So on the next occasion I targeted the southern parts, the Algarve region and I flew from London, to Faro in the very end of November 2016. The plan was to rent a car here as I already booked and paid one. But again, I’d like to highlight this, if you ever go to Portugal, be very very suspicious with the car rent. The webpage said that I needed to pay only 20 euros for the 2 days, which seemed like a good deal. On the location, I was already not too surprised when it turned out that there are additional costs.

So this is that. 260 euros 265 today, more or less.By the end you get back, if you don’t go on the R22 you get back 185. It will cost you 75 euros and 64 cents.

Therefore I used the magnificent portugal trains to reach Lagos.
Given that I was sick, I couldn’t do much of a travel, but with my lovely guides I got to discover the neighborhood and some very unique places, a detox retreat and a workaway pizza place run by hippies, that was magical.

The breakfast was not included, that’s okay. On the web page they state that it’s 7,50 per person, it’s already 8,50… hmmm…

This is probably the cringiest moment I’ve ever captured on camera. Look at that couple, they were just cuddling and kissing on that beautiful rock for an eternity. A tourist just went there and didn’t realize the situation. But it was not the only surprise.

Here comes the detox retreat where the girls were volunteering.

And finally this is the workaway pizza place, I’m trying to give you back as much of a feeling as possible.

Next day I got a bit better so we could explore on the west coast for awhile, this place has incredible scenery, so it is a must to visit, I plan to go back as well. But I needed to rush and catch a plane to London.

My voice just improved quite a lot, during these 2 days, thank you very much Portugal. Right now I’m out of cash, so I’m just walking to the airport, we all know that it must end well.

Well, it was way better than in Debrecen.

This is the end of my 2 days trip in Portugal if we add up with the previous one it is still not a week, but I was able to cover most parts of the country. I plan to go back for sure, but next time I’ll be extra cautious about the car hire.

This was Portugal for me in 2016.
