During our Holiday in Portugal we made a road trip to the famed Algarve region to see if the area lives up to the hype. I am happy to say our expectations were exceeded. If you ever get a chance to visit Portugal you have to put the Algarve on your itinerary.

We specifically went to the Algarve to visit the beaches which have the highest rating in the travel industry and are the most popular. First we traveled to Praia de Benagil, but the beach was really crowded so we moved on the the more beautiful Praia da Marinha. The sheer cliffs dropping off to the beach and ocean below was truly beautiful.

I rate the beach a 8 out of 10. I would rate it higher, but the steep walk down to the beach would be very challenging for the very young, the elderly, or the mobility impaired.

Either way, if you can - Visit the Algarve!
